Who We Are & What We Do

Stafford & District Bereavement & Loss Support Service (SDBLSS) is a Stafford based registered charity which was established in 1984 by Dr Linda Machin when a need was recognised for bereavement support for local people. SDBLSS entered into partnership with Katharine House Hospice in 2010 but remains a registered independent charity which closely follows the guidelines of The British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.

Our Mission

The mission of SDBLSS is to provide a quality, caring and confidential bereavement support service to the local community.

Through the tireless efforts of our volunteer bereavement supporters,
our charity endeavours to help clients who access our service to make positive differences to their lives as they experience difficult times.

Our Counsellors

About our Counsellors and Support Workers… Our volunteers are people who are specially trained to be skilled in listening and providing emotional support, whilst you talk and gently go through what has happened during your time of bereavement or loss.

In Memory

In memory of our dear friend, Trustee, Honorary President and founder of this incredible charity, Mr Ian Glover.

He will be very sadly missed and we will remain in contact with his lovely wife, Jenny, and thank her for the support that she gave to Ian and our charity throughout this time.
