Community Fund Success
We are very pleased to announce that we have been successful with our application to the County Council’s 2025 Community Fund in the sum of £500 with the help of Councillor Jill Hood. This grant will immediately help us to recruit and train more volunteers to support those people who are going through bereavement and loss in our local area. We are very grateful for the continued support of Staffordshire County Council and Jill Hood in helping us to continue providing a local


2026 Calendars
One of our volunteers, Steve Clifford, has created some 2026 Calendars with all proceeds helping to raise funds for us at SDBLS. They are £10 each or £12 with postage. They can be collected from Oakridge Business Centre, Co-op Funeralcare in Stone or by emailing sdblss@hotmail.co.uk and we will post them.


SDBLSS receives King's Award for Voluntary Service
It is with great pleasure that we announce that Stafford & District Bereavement & Loss Support Service (SDBLSS) has been awarded the King’s Award for Voluntary Service in recognition of our charity work in the community. We are extremely proud to receive this accolade in recognition of the service we have been providing to adults experiencing bereavement or loss in the Stafford, Stone and the surrounding district for the last 41 years. Matty's Bike Ride
Matty's Bike Ride - one of our Volunteers' son, Matty Sohie, did a bike ride from London to Brighton in September raising a massive £667 for the charity completing it in 3 hours and 56 minutes. Thank you Matty - a job well done!


Yoga on the Lawn
Our Yoga on the Lawn Day helped us to raise a huge £2165 which was shared between our charity and SOBS (Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide) and The Fire Rescue Service - these two charities are supported by our lovely Yoga Teacher, Grace Moore and are close to her heart as SDBLSS is to ours. A big thank you to Gill Clarke who made this event possible!


Concert at St Mary's in Lichfield
The concert held at The Hub at St Mary's in Lichfield was an evening of beautiful music by Nigel Shaw and Carolyn Hillyer of Seventh Wave Music inspired by their home on Dartmoor and using traditional flutes and drums. Our thanks once again to Nigel and Carolyn and to the wonderful people at the Hub who made this such a magical evening and helping to raise proceeds of £1,085!
